Llanbedrog Beach - Wednesday 9th March

Wednesday March 9th.

Bill and I enjoyed a relaxing and interesting day with Pete and Jean.
The view above is from Pete and Jean's bedroom - which we used for our stay.

After breakfast we drove to Llanbedrog - further west along the Lleyn Peninsular, on the south side.
As we walked I mused on past visits - Ekatarina played on the beach when she was small. We bought her a bucket and spade, I remember.
In the summer there are lots of visitors of course.
But last week we had the wide bay to ourselves.

Beach huts, ready for the summer, sitting in the car park.

Cottage under the cliffs.

Llanbedrog beach and in the distance the mountains of Snowdonia can be dimly seen.

In 1955 we were both in the first first year of Ifield Grammar School.

Bill and Pete were apprentice motor mechanics with Boxall and Collins at about the same time.

We found a glove.
Pete set up this "work of art" and we all quoted from the poem...."not waving but drowning".
After our walk it was time for lunch.
We drove up into the village and enjoyed a meal at the art gallery.
I will feature this in tomorrow's posting about our trip away.
