Wakehurst Place.

This has been another lovely day out at Wakehurst Place.
It didn't work out exactly as planned - but plans are made to go wrong!
We should have be joined by both Stella and Barbara (fellow timekeepers). We and Stella arrived at more less the same time and we waited inside the shop for Barbara.
Sadly Barbara had arrived early.....and waited.
We must have missed her by a couple of minutes I guess. If we had not waited we would surely have found her quite quickly.
Never mind we have now started to plan the next jaunt.
It was a cold day - down to freezing first thing this morning. The wind was sharp as we walked.....but thankfully the clouds cleared during the day and the sunshine was warming.
The photos generally tell their own story.
I am posting a selection from about the 100 taken. Some have already been discarded. Others remain on the computer for us to enjoy.
And I have picked the most pleasing, which tell the story of the day best, from both of our cameras.
Today Bill was the better photographer - he concentrated more on his picture making.
I had another hobby to indulge in - chatting!
I will briefly mark who the photographer was.

A mother and child were feeding birds in the lake. The gulls were getting it all. A duck swam over, for some titbits too; but the gulls soon chased her away.

Now then, put that down on your careers form!
I would like to be the remote controller of a works vehicle.
Bill certainly was enthralled!

Lunch was good. Bill and I both chose the pork and hop sausages served with mashed potato and roasted root vegetables and topped with a red fruity sauce. I thought they said crab apple - but would that be red?
