5th March Woe is Us!
Woe is us!
Bill is walking around with a huge box of tissues and a pile of used ones close by.
I have a rotten sore throat.
We both feel grotty this evening.
Colds are always worse in the evening.
How can such a minor little illness make one feel like one is at death's door?
We shouldn't grumble - we know we are not the only ones suffering and I suppose we have to be grateful that the nasty little disease has waited until now to inflict itself on us.
Goodness - we wouldn't have wanted colds when I was in and out of hospital.
Except that today we have been in and out of a hospital.
It was time for yet another blood test for me.
We have worked out the Crawley hospital routine and know that half past two is an excellent time to arrive.
There was just one woman waiting before me. I waited for hardly more than a minute really.
After the blood test we decided to do the week's shopping in Asda, close by the hospital.
This morning we felt settled and at some peace, both working gently at the computers describing things for EBay, which will be listed tomorrow.
The sunshine brought real warmth to us as we sat by the south facing windows.
It had not been so warm when I hung the washing out before breakfast - temperature was minus 3 degrees C.
Well, that basically has been the day.
The night time and snuggling in a warm bed sounds attractive right now. But will we sleep? It is so hard to breathe.
I am reassured that a cold doesn't last for so very long - except for the weeks of sinus type symptoms which often follow the worst of it.
I wish everybody a comfortable night's sleep - some are already well through their night (like the 4j's). You people over in Canada are still involved with the activities of the day.
Goodnight All.
