The vase, the shop and E Minor.
There were times today when the shop was really buzzing and the three of us were all dealing with buying customers.
I do so like it like that.
And yet I also enjoyed by mid morning cup of tea sitting outside the back door of the shop, in the sun and not being troubled by customers......
until a book dealer came and bought 2 of my books that is.
My fabulous large heavy vase is now in place. I wonder if I will see it again.
Probably!
It is priced at £55 if anybody is interested.
I had a small 1950s table at home and I just slotted it between the 2 1950s kitchen chairs to display the vase.
Here are a couple of other pictures, showing the other kitchen chair and kitchen shelves.
This weekend a new facebook group started - a campaigning group.
Rumours are flying about our local councils proposals for Tilgate Park. Some of it is true, some more is conjecture and yet more is downright scaremongering.
Our council are looking at ways to maximise the potential of Tilgate Park.
Do they mean to maximise the pleasure of Crawley people or do they mean to maximise income?
Do they mean to sell the park or are they thinking of getting some profit making organisation to manage it?
There is talk that Drusillas - the very commercial zoo/play attraction for young children might get involved.
Go Ape - the arial climbing and thrills company are said to be interested in establishing something.
Almost certainly, whatever happens the Nature Centre will no longer be free to visit. That is just fine if a family are spending all day at the park. But local residents might just pop into the Nature Centre for half an hour as part of a walk.
Quite a few high powered people have joined the facebook page now. Our MP has been made aware of it and must answer questions.
Improvements can and should be made and must be paid for by somebody. But this park has been one of the best things about what our council provided - but it seems that maybe the political persuasion of the new council will lead to a less service based park and a more profit based park.
E Minor (grand daughter) must wait to see if she has made the final of the school talent competition. The semi finals were today.
Congratulations young E.
At the end of the month we will join E Minor and Ashley at an Albert hall concert and will probably take with us the mother in law and niece of the musical director, who will be playing the organ. We will also meet up with his wife and his daughter.
Back stage pass possible?
This is The Horrible Histories Prom.
Time for a cup of tea and some gentle relaxation before bedtime.
