Family time at Ifield.

This afternoon we went to Ifield for a family visit - perhaps mostly to meet up with Dede once again. Dede is from Madagascar and is in a sort of way my half brother in law!
We met, we spoke briefly and then he escaped.
We drank tea and chatted and played in the garden with the rest of the family.

Ruth and Bill encourage the boys in the "Lets see who can get a bean bag into the washing up bowl" game.

Felix joins in.

Bill and Otto in conversation about a scooter.

Look boys - Mummy can juggle!

Jenny.........................................................and grand son, Felix.

Jenny is a very enthusaiastic and knowledgable gardener.
The curving sweep of  tall oaty grasses looked superb.

The vegetable garden is impressive.

Last Sunday this garden was part of the village Open Gardens Day.

Chard is so beautiful to look at - eating is the next part of the pleasure.

Jenny had potatoes for us, newly dug today and some raspberries and then she gathered some beans for us too.

I am looking forward to the vegetables tomorrow.
The raspberries are already in a fruit salad - which we will eat for our supper.

Otto stayed out with the adults - performing lots of chat for our delight.
Felix decided to take himself off for some quiet time.
He takes after his father!
You might have noticed that our visit to meet Dede yielded no photos of him.

Perhaps Andy Murray should have taken advice from Otto about which racket to use!
Though I doubt that anything much would have thwarted the superb Rafa Nadal.
