The Christmas shopping rush.

I think the effort of wearing all these clothes has worn me out!
I have dressed up like a colourful Michelin man for a day in the shop.
The temperature at the back of the shop was about 3 degrees when we arrived.
Maybe I am still carrying too many layers back at home in the warm.
The journey to Dorking was very easy and three of us gathered for what seemed would be a quiet day.
We had to go to the shop next door for water - our pipes had frozen.
This meant the loo was out of action too.
Monika left at about midday - as we had already planned.
And at that point the customers arrived. Bill and I were very busy and sales were good - for almost everybody except Bill!
We enjoyed it. We work well as a team - as we should after all these years.
We can be friendly and efficient and everybody seems happy.
Any customers who arrived after half past four would have been less than happy though.
As snow was falling we thought we would get away early.
The snow is still falling.
We called in at Lidl and now know that their beef wellington is off the Christmas Day menu. We shall pay a bit more and buy in Marks and Spencers or Waitrose instead.
Time now for a cup of tea - and try not to fall asleep on the sofa before the tea goes cold.
Bedtime seems to be a good option.
