Sociable day with friends.

I am not sure if there will be any pictures tonight - time is slipping away.
This evening I have wrapped, invoiced etc for EBay sales.
The paperback book I mentioned (I think) the other day finally sold for £27.58!
Lots of other things have sold too.

The day has been busy too.
We picked up Pete and Jean at about half past ten.
We drove to Brighton via Ditchling and had a walk on the South Downs at Ditchling Beacon.
We then went to Brighton Marina.
The sun was shining, the sky was blue there were yachts and motor launches a plenty. Goodness we could have been in Cannes or Monte Carlo!
We had a good meal and then strolled along the water's edge to look at the view, beyond the harbour wall, of the white cliffs towards Rottingdean and beyond.
We also tracked down the signposted Christmas market and Santa's grotto.
It was, of course, a bit tacky and lacking in atmosphere.
But I did buy a couple of small gifts.
And Pete bought me a hat!
It is one of those South American looking hats with a bobble on the top and sort of plaits at the side.
Megan had one a few years back and I liked it and it suited me.... but, I thought "I am too old for one of those".
Today, in the "When I am old I will wear purple" sort of mood, I decided I was old enough.
I tried on lots of different colours.
Pete was obviously concerned that I would have to try every single hat and he slapped the money down, so I had the one I was wearing at that moment.
Its lovely - thank you Pete.

We drove back to Crawley and came indoors to have a cup of tea and then took them back to relations in Pound Hill.
We passed a house with a fantastic display of Christmas lights. Bill and I spent a while taking photos and chatted to the house owner - who is collecting money for the NSPCC.

And so after a busy day I have worked this evening.

Time for a cup of tea.
Goodnight - with promises of a few pictures over the weekend.
