Not much sort of day - and the 4 friends at Ditchling.

It is just as well that I have a good day to look back on, for there is very little to think about today.
It was an odd sort of day today. Bill had a disturbed night and then slept until nearly 10 o'clock.
I had already got up and donned my dressing gown to start describing things.
I have put another little bundle of things on today and that will be the last listing until either the 21st of December or maybe even the 28th December.
Obviously a short spell away from home means it is best to have not too much going on - and especially that anything that has been sold must have been paid for and sent before we head towards Wales.

Our Welsh plans have altered. We had tentatively thought of a weekend at Ashley's just before Christmas.
But now having talked with Pete and Jean, we have decided to go over Christmas itself and spend 3 nights with them and then just one at Ashley's house.
Ashley and Liz prefer a no fuss Christmas - but then don't we all?
Well - lots of people do!
So we "grumpy" old folk will get together and walk and talk once again and have a jolly time - but with very little emphasis on those things that seem to be obligatory to make Christmas special.
We won't ignore the season completely and may go to a carol service in the local church or even Bangor Cathedral on Christmas Eve.
Who knows? It is a Christmas with no fixed plans.

Anyway what more can I say of today. We posted parcels and then went to Asda for bread and a piece of meat for tonight's Saturday evening roast dinner - now in the oven.

And I am looking forward to Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor.

It is a real "chill out" day.

And now a few pictures of Ditchling Beacon. There have been many pictures there before of course. In the summer I was collecting fairy seeds with Ekatarina!

And here are the old folks - we don't look very grumpy do we?
But I can assure you we can grump about the state of the modern world with the best of them!

Cows gathered at the very full dew pond on the top of the South Downs.

They are all small pictures - Bill's stitched together panoramic view looks very small. Just click on it and it should look much clearer.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Facebook tells me that my friends and family have all sorts of activities going on - from parties to a solitary horse ride in beautiful woods.
