Sunrise Divers. Karon Plaza.

Our last week of holiday in Thailand saw my son back at work.
He manages the small and very efficient dive shop in Karon, called Sunrise Divers.

You will find Jamie at his desk every day, except Saturday.
Much of the business is internet centred.

He pops out for a local lunch and on the day we called in on him, he took us to a favourite cheap noodle shop.

Oh Bill....serious business coping with rice!
I had noodles.

The noodles were wide and flat. curled into tubes.

Piles of plastic bowls......always plastic crockery in a cheap noodle shop.

The main road. Sunrise Divers is tucked away behind the main road buildings in Karon Plaza.

Bill pottered around in the dive shop.....good air conditioning in there.

I went for a walk with my camera and to look for quirky things, interesting things, maybe lovely things in Karon Plaza.
It was low season and a time for shops and cafes to remain closed or change hands.
There was a lazy laid back feel to this little corner.

There is a small temple.

Outside a beauty parlour.

The wind was getting up.....blowing up from the Sea just a short walk down the road.

Rain macs have appeared for sale and were blown up, like balloons, by the wind.

Decoration in a reggae cafe.
I presume it still or will function.....all the fixtures and fittings were there.

For rent......from a Russian?

Rain seemed ever closer.

Many businesses and homes have these small "mini" temples outside.

Always wondered why a business would choose to have a cheaply made, tatty tiger outside!
I have made him look as impressive as possible!

Decorated window.

Back to the small temple....and then back into Sunrise Divers.

If you are a diver or want a beginner diving course and want a holiday in Thailand, then contact Sunrise Divers.
They arrange Live Aboard trips out into The Indian Ocean.....to the Similan Islands, for example.
I know the manager......and he always wants to ensure that people have a good experience.

It is a small, well established company......just 3 staff to ensure the personal touch.
