Olympic Torch Relay Lewes.
For our second date with the Olympic torch we travelled to Lewes.
We were there early and had a couple of hours to wait and chat with people and watch people and take photographs.
Children were lucky - they could sit down on the kerb by the roadside.
I would never have got down there....or up again!
The whole length of Lewes (Loo-iss) high street is on a hill. The bottom is particularly steep.
Crowds gathered there.
Girl with gold medal.
Girl and golden refreshing drinks.
Sucker for a bit of tat!
The drumming band is called Skull Drummery.
Excellent!
The drummers return from the hill.
Photograph by Sarah Oliver.
Found on the band's facebook page.
Flags and reflections in the windows of one of the official buses.
The laughing policemen.
Looking through a top floor window.
The Olympic torch passes by.
And later the torch was in my hands.
What a joy!
