On the timekeeping steps and with family.

It has been a lovely and long day.
The weather has not been completely lovely - but it didn't rain for most of the day. Above all it didn't rain whilst we were timekeeping, but the wind was really strong - draughty on the timekeeping steps.
I was not chief and I am grateful to Keith for taking on the job.
I had a chance to relax and talk.
I was working with Stella - and we talked a lot.
But we also did a good job - we only failed to notice the start of a race once!
We were working from 11 o'clock until about quarter to six in the evening.
We returned home, had a cup of tea and then went out again.
We sort of gatecrashed a family party - but they were our family.
Our nephew, wife and child were in Sussex from their home in Plymouth and his sister, our niece Lisa, were in England from Australia.
It was really lovely to join them.
Eleven of them had booked a table for a meal together at the Smith and Western situated on the edge of Tilgate Park. We timed our arrival so that most of the eating would have been done.
I enjoyed a glass of red wine, and enjoyed chatting.
I took quite a few photographs too.
Then it was time to get the young ones home to bed. The older ones are feeling tired too. Scott, Lisa and their families are packing in as much activity as possible.
Soon it will be time for reality as homewards they all go.
I felt a slight awkwardness as we hugged and kissed goodbye. Thank goodness for facebook, for the sharing of doings and photographs keeps us all close together.
