Views from the castle at Newcastle.
Now to return to Newcastle.
I wonder if they have had as much heavy rain and hail as we in the south.
We were very fortunate with the weather last week.
On the 12th April we went into Newcastle town centre (on the Metro) and then to the castle.
This was the second time we have been there - the previous time was many years ago.
1977. Lots has changed - we are all 35 years older.
The Sage Arts Centre has not been thought of - but the mighty Tyne Bridge remains.
And the Millennium bridge has been built. It is beautiful - particularly after dark.
Bill had won prizes with his picture of the station and railway from the castle.
This is my 2012 picture.
Looking towards the Earl Grey monument.
I like chimneys.
And I like reflections.
Looking towards the cathedral.
I like to find all sorts of little details.
I could see through an office window across the rooftops.
There were display areas within the castle.
This is the High Level Bridge, designed by Robert Stephenson and opened in 1849.
There is a road way under the railway.
