Hard Day's Monday
Tired!
It was a hard day at the shop - hard, but enjoyable.
Today Stephen was with us - Monika was journeying back from a music festival in Somerset. Or was it Suffolk? Geography is not one of Monika's strong points!
There was selling to do, of course; sorting out my fresh stock, of course; and then re-arranging the shop furniture.
Jo, and others, suggested that it might be better to turn our desk 90 degrees, because at the moment when people stand in front of the desk, they tend to block the doorway.
It seemed a good idea - and I loved the feel of it in that position.
But there really wasn't the space.
It would have been worse, because the gap through to Bill's and Jill's section would be narrow and could be blocked with people standing in front of the desk.
So the desk was turned back again - but into a slightly different position and I think improvements have been made.
There was a lot of clutter under the desk - bubble wrap, carrier bags etc thrown rather randomly into the kneehole space.
So I sorted it all into 3 boxes and hopefully people can now find things more easily.
Bill and Stephen went to the pub for lunch.
And it was at that time that I was most busy with sales.
A Japanese dealer (she lives and deals in the UK) bought quite a lot - including a lovely glass lamp shade of mine.
I was busy with phoning for some best prices, unlocking cabinets, wrapping and totting up the total - she spent about £170.
I came home to find a mini bidding war has broken out on the Horsham ginger beer bottle that I photographed yesterday. The present bid is over £11.
Time for a cup of tea - a bit of TV and early night.
There is a documentary about railways in literature and film, which I would like to stay awake for.
