Get your act sorted BT and Tiscali!
We took turns to visit the hairdresser today - couldn't go together because we felt one should be at home to greet the BT engineer.
Ah! They arrived just as I left to get my hair cut.
Good.
But I returned to discover that they hadn't come to fix our phone - they were going to fix the phone of the people who live next door.
Except that they couldn't!
One of the people who live next door called round to tell us that a fault has been diagnosed in yet another place and that it would need people to come and dig holes.
When? Tomorrow?
And when might we be included in this ridiculous saga?
What is needed is a good quality line under the ground at an appropriate depth. At the moment it is only inches under the surface in places.
Surely the medical centre will demand a good line?
Could we all not benefit from that?
Anyway, we have no phone, but we do still have a slow working broadband. The girls next door have nothing.
We have used the broadband today to describe and list things on EBay.
Mine were all books and I am finding that I am selling books less well these days.
Bill has "things" - which do rather better.
He has a bid already on a super 8 film made at the Farnborough air show.
Every little helps.
I guess we had better stay home again tomorrow - we are eager to speak with a telephone engineer.
My guess is that we will have to spend more money on contacting Tiscali on the mobile.
Somebody was supposed to phone this evening from Tiscali - but nothing has happened.
We had planned a trip to Ikea for a few bits that we want. Maybe we will go on Friday. We might as well go whilst their summer sale is on.
Feeling sleepy now. I must make some tea and we can have some fruit for supper.
I bought loads at the car boot sale on Sunday very cheaply.
I decided that the pineapple was getting just a bit too ripe - the fruit flies were loving it!
So, I chopped it up and sauteed it in a little butter with a pear, an apple and a nectarine, sprinkled with nutmeg.
I will get some ice cream and sorbet out of the freezer to soften just a little........mmmm, mouth is watering already!
