Gardens at Polesden Lacey

The grounds at Polesden Lacey are extensive.
We did not have a chance to explore everywhere.
At this time of year the walled rose garden is superb - but they need so many more volunteers for dead heading!
Here are a few views.
There are giant stone urns below the south terrace.
The have interesting carvings.

Through the round window.

The herbaceous border.
The wall is interesting - brick on one side and flint on the other side.

Pergolas in the rose garden.

Garden worker's hat and barrow.

Read on for pictures of the house and the story of its most remembered owner.
