Tingling times
Ooh, my face is tingling this evening. Because of the sunshine or because of the wind?
The sunshine, which we had for much of the day was lovely and certainly took the bite out of the wind.
Later, the sun disappeared behind clouds and the wind felt cold. My hands tingled with the cold.
We were in Brighton at the athletics track for the Sussex Under 13 championships with a Quadkids competition for under 11s. The latter combines points for 4 events.
I was the chief timekeeper and had a lovely day working with David F.
There were 8 others on the stand.
I have not yet compared my times to the electric times - I do know that at first I was pretty appalling! But I settled down.
I know that the times I returned (as given to me by the others) proved to be a very accurate account of the race. Who needs electrics when you have Sussex timekeepers?
The were lots of races - and lots of very close races, which tested my skills at reading the race.
Before I write down the returned times I like a picture in my head of how big the gaps might be and which athletes might expect the same or very similar times.
This evening I have wrapped parcels to send to EBay buyers and sorted out some stuff to take to the shop tomorrow. It feels odd not to have bought any new stock.
