Antiques Roadshow Pleasure

Sunday evening - so, the customary doze whilst the experts on The Antiques Road Show appraise and value the treasures.
But I was awake long enough to see something that excited me.

This is a view of Mount Caburn from Furlongs Farm, a view so familiar from childhood holidays - apart from the toy train of course.
The picture is by Tirzah Ravilious, wife of Eric.
It had been taken to the road show by the niece of Tirzah - and Eric.
Tirzah has a repuation for wood cuts, but this picture had not been seen before by the expert.
I couldn't find anything about it on the internet.
My picture is taken from the programme, which is on BBC I player. I paused the screen and photographed and hoped.
Roger, if you find time to look, the section is just before half way through the programme.

This morning we found a few treasures at the Pease Pottage boot sale. It was gigantic - hundreds of stalls. All has been written up and stowed away in the garage.
We drove home via Colgate - signs directed us to a garage sale, where we bought a little more.

What a blessing are these sales.
I cooked dinner today - salmon, potatoes and lots of vegetables in the steamer that I had bought for £2.
I cut up fruit too.
There is a green grocery stall at pease Pottage which sells large bowls of fruit and vegetables for £1. My bowl of kiwi fruit had 18 of them! I already had 3 melons at home, which they sell at 2 for £1.

This afternoon I coloured my hair again, using a kit which I had bought for £1. It was a well known make.
It looked like my hair could go quite fair with a golden sheen.
In fact I feared it might end up looking orange!
No way!
My natural hair is dark brown and I have never managed to lighten it very much. This time it is quite dark with a gingery sheen.

Time for bed now. We want to be up early and go to the big car boot sale at Epsom.
We will also call in at the shop to collect any envelopes and to tidy.
We won't be officially open, but if anybody wants to come and buy whilst we are there they would be most welcome.
