Much to feel joyful about
A day of feeling content about our "boys".
Both took their families to museums on Saturday. That alone is not enough to be specially joyful, though I am very pleased that they like to do that sort of thing.
Jamie went to the Phuket Mining Museum.
Ashley went to the Newcastle Museum.
Ashley was in Newcastle with the family on a mission and it seems to have turned out just as they dared to dream.
Their Bangor home is already sold.
The offer they have made on a detached 3 bedroomed bungalow has been accepted.
Liz has a job at Gateshead hospital.
Now they must finalise everything and pack up.
The present residents of the bungalow didn't know until the day of the viewing that the house they wanted had become available again.
That house is empty so the bungalow people are ready to move as soon as they can.
I am so happy for them that everything is going forward with seemingly no hitches. One hears of such disasters in buying and selling houses that it feels like tempting fate to omit that word "seemingly".
Six thousand miles away the Thai Monks will be celebrating a birthday. John is 6 tomorrow, the 11th.
I keep my fingers crossed that maybe our parcel will be delivered (we have had many go astray) - I hardly expect it to be delivered on the right day of course.
Happy birthday John Boy!
We have had a contented day in the shop - both Bill and I sold things for ourselves and I had a surprisingly good week. I looked round my area when we arrived and thought I saw just one space where an item had been - but in fact I had a dozen envelopes.
The icing on the cake of contentment would be that the score in a football match being played over the road stayed rather as it is now, at half time.
Crawley Town, a non Football League club were drawn against Derby County in the 3rd round of the FA Cup; Crawley are 61 places lower than Derby.
At half time we (Crawley) are in the lead 1 - 0.
Many pundits say that Crawley have a very good chance of winning.
And now for some pictures from the Phuket Mining Museum. We drove to it when we were there recently, but it was not open.
Mam, the miner's woman, is checking if they need anything.
