Time for some rest.

We have just enjoyed a relaxing, chilled out sort of evening - wasting time!
There was a Top of the Pops special about the music of the 1980s, followed by a Grumpy Old Person's guide to the 80s.
We needed rest.
The weekend was very full and today we have been at the shop all day.
We did lots, but it hasn't been very busy with customers.
Never mind Bill and I both sold and Bill took £70.
I took photographs with a pinkish sort of theme for the shop blog - the colour of cherry blossom and other blossoms which fills many trees just now. If only we could have some sunshine to enhance the blossomy colours.
I don't think I will do the blog until Wednesday.

Tomorrow we will be sadly busy - though I am sure my Uncle Billy will not mind a bit that there will also be some peace and contentment and as his family gather together, some laughter.
But there will also be tears and sadness that is for sure.
We will go to Tunbridge Wells and have some lunch there and a walk with our cameras.
The funeral is at Tunbridge Wells at 4 o'clock.

And so, Gordon Brown has announced that he will stand down.

I quote an opinion from my blog expressed last Wednesday - the day before the election...........

And just a passing thought - do you think that Gordon Brown suddenly seems so happy and fired up because he has decided whatever happens he is going on to a new and quieter life?

He had already decided to go - I am sure of it. I am equally sure that his wife is delighted as some sort of normal family life is on the horizon.
The next few weeks or months will be like a sort of purgatory for both of them.
He can't just walk away.
I wonder who will replace him and if they would ever be Prime Minister.
I was impressed with a Labour MP the other day, who has attracted the attention of wiser brains than mine. He is Ben Bradshaw.
Is the UK ready for a gay prime Minister?
He is not on a list of runners and riders that I have seen for the job.
I realise I don't really know enough about the Labour cabinet.
David Milliband seems personable..... has he a great intellect or just a pair of attractive brown eyes?
I have a low opinion of Ed Balls - is it based on instinct or facts?
Andy Burnham might be the man for the job.
Whoever it will be it is probably only of much relevance to the general public if the Liberal/Labour pact comes to some successful conclusion.
And who knows what is going on there?
I am enjoying hearing of the cut and thrust of the post election time.

Time for bed.
We look forward to seeing family members tomorrow.
We have memories to treasure on such a sad day.
