Photos of a funeral.

Sorry friends - today's blog is for the family who gathered together yesterday for my Uncle Billy's funeral.
Bill was my mother's younger brother.
He also had a sister Vera, who we said farewell to a couple of months ago. The youngest in the family is Valerie, who was feeling poorly yesterday and we missed her.
Billy married Vera Seale and had 3 children - Rod, Chris and Alison.
We all know the family story - though some names are missing from my memory.
I am sure that people like Natasha who we have only recently made contact with, will gradually pick up all the bits and pieces.
Natasha is part of Billy's mother's family - the Jones.

I will name those I can and explain briefly where they fit in.

Brenda on the left is my mother's cousin (Billy's cousin too of course)
Ann, on the right, is my cousin - daughter of Vera - Billy's sister.

Aunt Marge arrives.
She is my great aunt - the aunt of Billy, Vera and my mother.
The previous generation were wide in age range and Marge was a very late arrival on the family scene. She is not much older than Billy.

With her is her son, Lyn - cousin of my mother and Billy.
Alison will have to fill me in on the name of the other person.

These 2 young men are from Bill's wife's side of the family - the Seales.

Alison receives some flowers.
Alison is, of course, Billy's daughter - and my cousin.

Roy Jones and his wife.
I must make more time to know these Jones relations.

Brenda - my mother's cousin.
Brenda is the daughter of my Great Uncle Ron ware - who was a wheeler and dealer and had a junk/collectables/antiques shop in Tonbridge.
Brenda took it over.
I am sure I share family genes with Brenda!

Cousins Alison and Sue - both now recently bereaved.

Alex, the sailor, is Uncle Billy's grandson.
I am so sorry that I have forgotten the name of his lady.

Rod is my cousin - elder brother of Alison and father of Alex.

Rod with Alex and his daughter in law.

Gerasene is part of Bill's wife, Vera's family.

Family members gossip and laugh.

Aunt Marge with Alex.

Uncle Billy was a railway man - knew all there was to know about the engineering of track laying.
This charmer was one of his colleagues.

All the nice girls love a sailor!
And Alison loves her sailor nephew!

Kentish cousins.
My cousin Sue and my cousin Ann's daughter, Sharon.

I hope the hat gets back safely to HMS Albion.

Billy's grandson, Robert with his fiancee Jenna.
Sadly I seem to have missed out taking any pictures of Robert's brother, David and his lady, Lucy. In about a couple of weeks Uncle Billy's great grand child will be born.
If he is thinking about anything at all, I am sure Billy's thoughts would include regret about missing the wedding and the new generation of the family.

My cousin, Chris and his lady - did I catch that her name is Bev?

Caroline is Billy's grand daughter - daughter of Chris.
Another regret Billy might be having is missing out on Caroline's graduation this summer.
The food was laid on at the Camden House Arms in Pembury.

A general view of all of those sharing in the occasion.

Another group of mourners - no we didn't mourn too much.
Sadness of course, but a joy too, that Billy had given so much in his long life.
Another view.

Chris and Bev again.
We had a board of pictures to tell the story of Billy's life and many more photographs on the computer.
My Bill took these two photos.
It is just coincidence that he took them at just the right moment with very significant people on the screen.
Click on the picture and you will see that the first one has a very young Billy, with his sisters - Vera and my mother.

And this one shows a very relaxed couple - Billy and his dear wife Vera.
I hope the family can let others know where to find these pictures.
We could put them on a disc for anybody who would like them.
