A quick summing up of the day.

There should be photos and details of a good day out.
But the hours have slipped away with all sorts of activities and so I have decided to leave an account of this day until tomorrow.
I will just briefly say that we have seen Shipley windmill, visited Shipley church, taken a walk across the fields to Kneppmill Pond, visited the Catholic church of our Lady of Consolation at West Grinstead, picnicked in the church yard of the C of E church of West Grinstead and walked across the upper reaches of the River Adur.
All of these places were new to us and were seemingly very far from the hurly burly of life - but in truth we were never far from the busy A24.
Our day took us into the world of Hilaire Belloc, poet, John Ireland, musician and Anny Ahlers, minor German operatic star amongst others, including The Queen.
I want more information about these people - and will get up early in the morning to look them up on Google.
We were out for much of the day.
Then we shopped a little in Asda. We rushed back to make a very quick cup of tea before going to see the vet about George.
George's neck and head seemed a little better this morning (we hoped). But he still chooses to lie sprawled out, with the floor taking the weight of his head.
Alberto, the vet explained about hyperthyroidism - much as I had read on the internet.
The normal level for thyroxin should be between 60 and 100 - George has a level of 179.
We have tablets to give him twice a day for a month and then there will be another blood test.
If the tablets fail then Alberto says we could opt for surgery.
We have never had to make a decision about a cat's treatment like this really. George is 13 years old and how much should we fork out to keep him going?
Maybe the tablets will be all that is needed.
It would be very hard to think of ending his life earlier than is necessary.
Right, tis bedtime soon.
Our plan is for a rest day tomorrow - apart from ironing, describing books and preparing blogs.
But this evening an event has been popped into the middle of the day.
One of the college"girls" is to be in Crawley for a funeral tomorrow and contacted to suggest meeting for a coffee before the event. We will meet her at a place opposite the crematorium for an hour.
So - a meeting with Lady Kate McMichael is on the agenda for tomorrow. Oh we do have some grand friends! The knighthood was bestowed on Kate's husband for services to medical research. Kate and Andrew are brilliant people and so lovely and caring too.
