Playtime with Jessica and John in our room

I am interrupting the stories of the doings of Bill and me in Thailand to include episodes of life at home - and at other times, in school.
Jessica and John liked to spend time in our bedroom. There was often time for a chat or a game or a story.
So today we have a few pictures from those times.
I am cross that my 2 best pictures of lovely Jessica are not in focus. She was normally quite near to me and I didn't allow for that on the camera.

My hat was an object of interest.

Towards the end of the holiday we bought notebooks and pens for John and Jessica.

Oh, this picture would have been so good!

Jessica liked to nose around amongst my things.
"Oh Nanny - nail varnish!"
And then she persuaded me to paint her toe nails.
She is not allowed it for school, but we felt she could get away with pale pink on her toes because she would always have shoes and socks on.

"I Know an Old Woman who Swallowed a Fly"
I sang the old Burl Ives version as we turned the pages.
The pages were cut out to reveal the next animal to be swallowed.

Tomorrow we will return to another expedition for Bill and I on our own - to old Phuket City.
It was a very good and fulfilling day.
