2nd August Ekatarina activities

I will begin with the afternoon's activities yesterday at Godstone Farm. In fact we took very few pictures of Ekatarina at play. We had reading books or crossword books with us to keep us amused and encouraged her to get on with it.
She played with a girl called Bella in the upper sand pit (there are 5 sandpits in all at Godstone!).
She also enjoyed the castle and the maze.

Here is a shot of some of the adventure playground, showing the lovely countryside around Godstone.

And so on to today.
No - it can't be! Raining that is!
We pretended it wasn't raining and went to Faygate. I suppose the sellers who were there just felt optimistically that the heavy drizzle wouldn't last long.
We whizzed round in hope.
Some of Ecky's hopes were fulfilled. She bought some bangles and a pack of Top Trumps cards with Bratz girls on.
Ashley found for her the bargain of the morning - 6 hard back copies of Harry Potter books for £2.50.
The Bratz cards have been played with and admired. I explained to Ecky how top trumps can be played with a friend and we have had 2 long games.

The Harry Potter books were absorbing - and she read as she ate her late breakfast.

Later Ashley and Ecky introduce me to a game called Cradle of Persia in which you build up a land from the days of nomads until - well, we don't know yet because nobody has completed the game; we just know that the nomads become farmers and then merchants.
I haven't got very far - can't get near the computer!
It did stop raining eventually but not earlier enough for us to go to Edenbridge boot sale - so disappointment all round.

This afternoon we dealt with the grass head girl that Ekatarina made at Godstone yesterday.
Basically a foot of a pair of tights is in a flower pot. We had to fill the toe with grass seed and then fill it with compost, and then decorate it.

Today the head had to be watered to start the grass seeds growing to create green hair.
Watch this space.... I will probably have to be taking photos of it for Ecky so that she can watch the progress when she is back in Bangor.

We set ourselves a project to get the diary up to date with words and pictures.
I have struck a deal with Ecky that she writes a sentence and then I write one, whilst Grandad prints off some pictures for us.
Then we went into the front garden to play with bubbles.

Yes - I am pleased with these pictures!
We are hoping that tomorrow morning the weather will be better and we can go to Pease Pottage.
Goodnight.
