Phuket. Last day. Yanui.
Our last Thailand beach was Yanui.
We spent very little time on beaches during the 3 weeks.
Yanui is a bit special - not long and beautiful like the popular tourist beaches. It is small and quiet. I remember young Jessica on the beach and a sunset.
Others think of it very poignantly. Everything there - a small cafe, some small bungalows and some people were swept away in the tsunami. There are some plaques on the rocks. One says that the tsunami "destroyed our future, but not our love."
Blue skies to the left and black clouds to the right.....which will win?
Jamie and I had a competition to see who could take the silliest picture of Bill.
Looks like Jamie won that one!
The black clouds won their contest to control the weather.
The rain didn't last very long.
From the beach we drove up to the viewpoint.
That's little Yanui cove down there.
In the evening we went into Phuket Town and ate at Kopitiam in Thalang Road.
There was a beautiful full moon that night. Feeling sad in my heart, the moon seemed to create a mystical and magical atmosphere.
Farewell to Monkland Thailand.
