One shop can't supply and Tulleys can supply so many good things

This morning I phoned the Boots pharmacy - they are still holding my prescription for the stuff needed for vitamin D injections.
I was fobbed off with a tale that it is not being manufactured anymore.
Dr. Oliver later confirmed that it is being made - but in small amounts and stocks are soon very low or non existent.
He suggests I talk to them in Boots - I shall have to go back down The Mall!
It is not a life or death situation and he thinks it might be best to wait until after Christmas. I am concerned that in the meantime Boots might "lose" the prescription.

This afternoon we took Frieda out. She hasn't been anywhere since the snow started.
She popped round to our house as we were on the point of going out.
I suggested she came too - and I was a bit surprised that she could take on the challenge of doing something on the spur of the moment.
We bought eggs at the farm and Frieda loved seeing all the chickens, ducks and geese round the farmyard.
Then we went to Tulleys Farm.
Tulleys began on the crest of the Pick Your Own wave. It has grown a lot since then with a good farm shop, cafe, events and amusements.
We wanted the shop today.
There were some things to buy as gifts and also some treats for ourselves. I am looking forward to ciderberry - cider with blueberries, blackcurrants and raspberries. There were a few more everyday things like sausages - venison and cider, also beef and Guinness.
It was exceedingly cold in much of the shop, which at this time of year is extended with a marquee; but it is lovely and we start to want so many things.
Frieda said, quite often, "ooh, its like being in another world."
And maybe she was right.
The range of foods and drinks is magnificent.

Tomorrow we might go to the other end of the food chain - and do some shopping at Lidl.
Certainly we are in need of some basics.
I will buy Frieda one of their stollen cakes - she was eyeing up one being sold for £7 today.

It will be a long day tomorrow - up early to get Jenny to the hospital for day surgery. We will pick her up later - not too much later, I hope. In the evening we are going to the pantomime at The Barn Theatre with Julie and Roger; our nephew, Antony, is performing.
