One minute I had it - and then it was gone!

After we had left written bids at Denhams auction house, I wondered if we ought to have done.
I was worried that we might end up with things that we didn't really want.
Worry ye not, Paula!
All is well.
At just before half past nine this morning we picked up the 2 lots we had won.
Hardly more than half an hour later I was no longer the owner of the modernist mirror I had bought!
We opened up the shop and the mirror had just been plonked down until we were organised. I picked it up and began to discuss with Bill how and where we might hang it.
"Ooh, that's a lovely mirror" said a customer, "how much is it?"
Well, I was not intending to make much profit - just thought it would look good.
I sold it to her for just over £10 more than I paid for the mirror and the auction charges.
Almost the quickest turn around ever!
The other lot was for Bill - a box of cameras and a WW2 periscope. Some items are almost worthless - but others are worth sorting out. Somehow there was an interesting little mirror in the box - don't know how that got there.

The mirror was the first sale of a busy day.
Today we were working with Jill.
All sorts of things were sold and we were busy opening cabinets and chatting.
We sold a large pine kitchen cupboard to a gardener at the big National Trust House, Polesden Lacey. The couple have lived in a cottage by the house for over 40 years. It must be lovely to be so much part of the place.

I also took photographs for the shop blog.
As Jill is a glass specialist I thought I should make glass my theme - it is all coloured glass.
I planned to do post the blog again on Tuesday, as usual. But that won't happen - we will be in the shop again.
I really enjoy being there - just as well, for we will be there 2 days next week.
And on Tuesday we will have the pleasure of working with Jo.
And it means we have another day of our September holiday covered.

But I think that we might have to get somebody to cover a much earlier Monday.
Bill is due to have a gastroscopy - camera down the gullet into the stomach on 12th April.
I have just be reading up about it - and I am sure he will be out of action for the rest of the day and will be in need of a chauffeur.
He could ring and ask for an appointment on another day, we will see what we think is appropriate.
As Dr O has done so well (again) in organising an urgent appointment, I think we should take it.
But Bill has not yet read any information - he has that pleasure to come.
I had one once - and was deeply sedated. I was an in patient at the time and remember nothing of the procedure.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is not good. We have decided to go to a large flea market and collectables fair (indoors) in Woking.
I think we might see much more that would interest us than at a small outdoor car boot sale - though the prices will be higher of course.

I hope that whatever Easter activities you have planned you will feel content over this long weekend. The weather will do its best to dampen spirits!
