Wonderful weekend.

This will be brief. Pictures of a very special weekend will follow later.

I am now exceedingly tired.

Yesterday 11 of us spent the day at Inga and John's lovely house with great views.
We had a light lunch.
We might have gone out in the afternoon - but the weather got very nasty.
Instead, we sat indoors, feeling very cosy.
There was much talk and laughter.
Later we all sat down to a three course meal - talk and wine flowed freely.
We were all late to bed.
Six were staying bed and breakfast locally, whilst Bill and I and Libby stayed at Inga and John's.
So, at least not far to tumble into bed for us.

This morning the weather began with an incredible fierce storm.
This was followed abruptly by bright sunshine.
The bed and breakfast people decided to go into Rye - not coming from Sussex it was a new experience for them.
Those at the house were happy to enjoy a gentle morning with the view and the papers.

At half past twelve we gathered at The Two Sawyers, the local village pub. There were now 13 of us.
Sunday lunch was everything a meal should be - the mere fact that it lasted three and half hours tells you how content we all were together.
Sharing a meal is more than just about the food.
But the food was excellent too.

We went back to Inga and John's for a while and could have snuggled down to doze on the comfy sofas.
But Bill and I made a move for the journey home.
The remaining 2 couples had one more night bed and breakfasting at The Two Sawyers.

We feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this crowd.

But now sleep and the normal Monday routine begins to beckon.

Good night.
