2nd Oct. Dull day; looking back to happy Wales day.

Today has been just one of those days.
The sun has shone a bit - though it has felt quite chilly. But I haven't felt able to settle to anything much. I feel tired, listless and crabby.
Shame - yesterday was good and I have nothing to feel crabby about.
It was just one of those days!

So it has been good to look back on a happy day in Wales with Pete and Jean.
We went to the seaside at Llanbedrog.

Beautiful!

We went for a stroll along the beach and I found some pretty stones and shells.

The brightly coloured beach huts were above the bay.

This little cottage has a near perfect situation - and I love those windows.
We ate at a bistro overlooking the sea.
After our meals - nothing too big and fancy, we treated ourselves to a couple of sundaes. One for each couple.

Bill and I pose with both the sundaes.
I promise I didn't eat too much of the wrong thing.
Bill had the whipped cream and I delved down the glass for the apricots.

It is lovely to look back on a relaxed occasion in such a lovely setting with old friends.
Sorry Pete and Jean you are not old of course!
I have known Jean over 50 years! Um.... I suppose that does suggest that we might be old!
Bill and Pete trained as mechanics together in the late 50s and early 60s.
Pete was best man at our wedding.

The next 2 photos tell a little familiar story - except this time it wasn't too messy.

I have an apricot on my spoon - coated in glorious ice cream flavoured with an apricot liqueur.
Bill has pinched the remains of the other sundae!

And then I didn't have an apricot on my spoon!
My hand caught it though.

Pete and Jean had the one with chocolate and orange.
What a couple of lovebirds!
Their wedding is always significant to Bill and me. Bill drove Jean to the church. I wasn't there - for Bill and I had only just embarked on our own relationship, and I hadn't yet been introduced to Pete and then discovering that he had married the Jean I knew from schooldays.
We had our first date that evening - a trip to the local cinema.

Amongst Pete's many interests is Roman history. He uses his technical and craft skills to reproduce Roman bits and pieces.

Bill models the helmet and sword.

And attempted to play the part of fierce Roman warrior.

Clearly Pete didn't make the helmet for his own head!
Can't be too fierce if you can't see!
