27th February. Part 2. Laem Ka Beach.
Once Jessica was in school, Mam drove south towards Rawai.
She turned sharply left into a very narrow little road just by a 7-11 shop.
We were going to Laem Ka beach. Laem Ka is everything that Patong isn't. Laem Ka is small and peaceful and completely non commercialised.
Wisely Mam sent me into the 7-11 shop to get some drinks to enjoy on the beach, for there was little to buy down by the water.
I have to admit that it would not be the best place for swimming because it is so rocky, but visually it is extremely beautiful.
I went for a walk, clambering over the rocks. I never feel steady these days on uneven surfaces and a woman of about my age came over to lend a hand. She was French and we enjoyed a friendly chat - and it was she who took the photograph of me.
