25th February Part 2. Kathu Junction Temple. Ket Ho.

Each time we approach a busy junction quite close to Jamie's house we can see a temple perched on a rise, which Jamie and Mam had not visited before.

The name of this temple is Ket Ho and you can find more pictures on Jamie's Phuket blog. Jamie is eager to show lots of temples on his blog, wanting to show the world that there are many interesting things to do on Phuket outside of the resort, Patong.

The buildings are set within some scrubby ground with little houses for monks around it. Some of their gardens are quite nicely tended. Temples all seem to have the same basic style but each has its own details and the carvings and pictures tell different stories.

Mam always spends a little time in prayer at a temple and encourages the children to do the same. You can see that they have some of their new presents with them - a talking teddy bear, a story of There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly and John has his Ant and Bee book.
