3rd March Tescos. Market. Swimming.

This was a lazy day - so I wonder why I feel so tired!
I woke quite late and so did everybody else.
Mam took the car to the garage and they said the problem was just a rubber mounting that was worn.
When she got back Jamie, the children and I went to Tescos. I had thought to buy Jamie a guitar for his birthday - this was Mam's suggestion; but Jamie wondered if, with young children around, the guitar would remain safe.
But last night he had seen a good crash helmet in Tescos and it was big enough for him. He said that big ones, mostly suitable for westerners are in short supply and get snapped up quickly.
So now perhaps he will be a little safer on the roads to Sunrise Divers,
It is the law for riders (but not passengers) to wear a helmet, but this is often ignored - especially by the fashionable girls. Police crack down from time to time.
I went back out again later with Mam to the market - Thai trading as it always used to be, long before Tescos. One has to wonder how hygenic it all is, but nevertheless its fascinating. Mam was buying mostly vegetables with prawns and some fish.
It was late in the day when we went out. We explored another village, called Delight Village. It appeared to be a small collection of houses on the hillside which were let furnished, though many were unoccupied. Perhaps the rich owner cared not to collect rent, but rather just to sit on his investment. There was a nice swimming pool and Mam wondered if it was open for non residents - seemingly not.
So we continued on to to the pool we went to yesterday on the Land and Houses Village (quaint name!).
Today I wore the costume I bought last Saturday and when asked Jamie said this was better than the one I bought from home.
I enjoyed a swim with Jessica, Jamie spent time encouraging John into the deeper water. Yesterday he had played very happily in his clothes on the shallow steps into the youngsters pool, but when taken into the pool itself he screamed. By then end of the session he was happy and felt able to float in his arm bands alone.
We came back to enjoy a good meal cooked byMam - very tasty.
Football from home is on TV - Manchester United have just beaten Liverpool with a last minute goal.
Football on Jamie's cable network actually comes from South Africa!
Jessica has gone to bed, but not so John. I think it will be better when he can stay awake all through the day, for then he will be tired in the evening.
John has a very sunny disposition . His smile could light up the world - so it is hard to feel cross with him.
Well, time for bed for me.
Tomorrow we will have the early start and go to Phang Nga and get a boat out to explore the extraordinary shaped islands, leading to James Bond Island. It was named that after being used as a back drop for one of the James Bond films - could be Man with the Golden Gun, but I forget.
News comes through from Bill at home - we have long phone calls every day of course, using Skype.
So I am thrilled to hear of the birth of a new nephew - welcome to the world boy! I am looking forward to meeting him next week - seen a couple of pictures already.
Sad to hear of the demise of Roger and Sue's old cat, Pickles.
There are some birthdays today of family and friends - if it is yours, then Happy Birthday.
Arsenal are now playing Reading on the TV right now - but I won't be up to see the end. We want to get up at half past six.
John is now sleeping.
