Health, table, plates and carrots.

This morning Bill had an appointment with the nurse.
Basically it was for a blood pressure check.
Normally his medication keeps BP within normality, but today it was high.
This  could well be due to fighting an infection.
Nevertheless he will get an appointment to see a doctor who deals with lifestyle choices.
Next week he will back at the Ifield Medical Centre to see Dr Oliver.

I had noticed a flaky spot on Bill's back and suggested he ask the nurse to check it.
She recommended he make an appointment to see the doctor.
It is probably nothing, but better to be safe than sorry.

This afternoon, Frieda came round for a cup of tea.
Actually it was seeing the flaky scabby spot on her nose that told me to persuade Bill to ask advise.
Frieda is doing very well. Her nose is healing.
She goes to another hospital on Friday - but which one? She doesn't know!

But then Frieda doesn't know much.

"Is that what they would call a table?" she asked.

Yes, Frieda and a very fine table it is too.

The fabric, under glass, is called Herb  Antony. It was designed by Lucienne Day in 1956 for Heals in London.

Could I have a tenuous link to Lucienne?
Her maiden name was Conradi.
A family of that name lived in a big house along Rusper Road  when I was young.
Lucienne was already married to Robin Day (not the broadcaster) in the 1950s.
Maybe it was a brother who I met.

I also bought a cake plate at the Epsom antiques fair yesterday. The plates are 1930s. The cake plate has been made this year.
You can buy the central support and handle and just have to drill neat holes in the plates.
I would only have a tiered cake plate where each tier is the same.
Quite often a rainbow selection of plates are used.

Talking of rainbows - we ate one this evening.
On Sunday, in Asda, I bought a reduced bag of rainbow carrots.

The colours are interesting.
Even better was the taste.
Fresh and crisp and sweet.
Sounds like a good quality wine!

I must make a drink for ailing Bill. He's OK - we all go down in the evening when carrying a bug.
Sleep and drink is what he needs.
