With family.
Some people in Monkland were up well before dawn.
Not me - I stayed in bed.
Simon and Nicki were on their way before 6 o'clock.
Bill returned to bed and slept again. I read my book (a Joanna Trolloppe) and dozed. We didn't actually get up until quite late.
I made soup this morning - lots of it.
The intention is to freeze some of it - but it is so tasty that maybe we'll have soup with every meal over the weekend!
I have also been printing photos. The task I set myself to create an album of my favourite photos this year and another of family and friends we have spent time with this year is almost complete.
Once I am up to date I just have to add a few pages each month.
Some photos taken today will no doubt be chosen for the December 2011 section of the people album. I didn't take them.
My favourite photos must be my work; but the people pictures can be mine or Bill's or gathered from facebook or blogs.
Today's pictures were taken when we visited Ruth and the boys and Papa - the boys' father from Madagascar.
We had a lovely time. Everybody was feeling pretty relaxed.
Looking at photos with Otto.
We found one of baby Felix.
Felix looks at photos with Bill.
Dede. You can see where the boys get their good looks from......Madagascar and Sussex make a good combination.
Dede checks his cooking.
The old farm animals have been cleared out of cupboards as renovation work goes on.
Maybe, thought, Ruth, they were not needed anymore.
But she changed her mind when yet another generation of the family settled down to play.
Both she and I had feelings of nostalgia for our childhoods as we handled many of these items.
There are three other photos - which Bill is trying to unravel.
These are photos taken in a professional studio - of the boys.
When he sorts them - or asks Ruth to send them again - I will share them with you.
