Kathu Phuket, Crossing the bridge. End of the festival.

I will look back now to Wednesday evening - the last night of the vegetarian festival; don't worry, no blood!
It had rained all day.
But the village festivities - for almost everybody in Kathu area - were mostly in the dry.
The vegetarian festival began in Kathu in 1825 - not as now. Basically a group of Chinese workers came to work in the tin mines and everybody got sick. The Chinese adopted a pure diet and got better and everybody else was impressed,
All those of Chinese origins, and that is almost everybody in Kathu, crossed the bridge - symbolising moving on, leaving troubles in the past and looking to the future.
A long crocodile of people, in white, stretched all along the village street about quarter of a mile long.
Most were carrying a little bunch of green reeds.
