December morning

It was dark at 6 o'clock this morning......worse it was freezing; even the fog was freezing.
The ice on the car took ages to get off....but we were soon on our way to Ford.
On the south side of the Downs the fog had lifted...but that made it feel even colder!
But it was fun!

The sun was just rising as we walked into the car boot sale.
The place was full of stalls - those sellers had been waiting since about 5 o'clock to go in and get "their" space. Others were still driving onto the site.

It was impossible to recognise folks against that low, bright light.
I bought lots of interesting things - which still need sorting. Just when I get the dining room table clear, I pile on another load of bits.

Didn't buy these, although they were in a car boot. Not for sale.

We called in at the farm shop for some of their sausages - 3 lots bought actually. Bought a few other bits too.
Then it was time for breakfast. The George was lively this morning, and friendly.
Harry and Brian were sitting next to us - also back from Ford.

We didn't take a walk by the river and out to the sea today - we had a date with some mulled wine and a mince pie in Wisborough Green.
A couple we have got to know, who sell at Ford, had the grand opening of their charity shop today.
They are giving a lot of time to SCRIPT and are raising as much as possible in all sorts of ways. This shop sells anything people will donate; from fine antiques to collectables, to useful things, books, toys and general bric a brac.
