Today and Days 1 and 2 in Thailand.

There is little to say about today.
It happened!
We both slept long and pretty well last night and enjoyed a cup of tea in bed before a late breakfast.
Washing has been hung out in the garden.
Lawns have been cut.
Cups of tea have been drunk with Frieda.
There has been more sleeping. Mam and I coined the phrase "ironing the sofa".
I have spoken with a lovely doctor who was not able to give me the satisfaction of instant pain relief - but he did give me the satisfaction of being right!
He accepted my diagnosis and my outline for treatment as being quite correct.
He is happy that I have a stockpile of co-proxamol and he could find no good reason for it ever having been banned. It seems that nobody I have met understands.
Pain is bad - and will remain so for a while longer.

Gradually more and more pictures of the Thai trip will emerge.

Today I return to the first 2 days.

Very early morning drink with Ron and his wife. Ron is the brother of Bill's sister's first husband.
Strange to be enjoying their company in Kuala Lumpur after all these years.
We arrived at Jamie's house at about 11 o'clock and pottered for the day.
In the evening we made the first trip, of many to a cafe up the Kathu waterfall road.

The 4 J's.

Iced lemon tea.

Jamie and his beer.

My food - chicken and cashew nuts.
The next day was chair buying day..... but first some lunch.
A favourite place is Kaewjai in Phuket Town.
I enjoy their white noodles.
Jamie has written and photographed Kaewjai
We had seen chairs in Home Pro the day before that looked remarkably like the Ikea chairs that we have here - and that so many people across Europe already own.
In Ikea you buy them flat packed and take them home to build them.
In Home Pro, they are put together for you.
They could be delivered free of charge, but we decided to take them, so they were wrapped for the short journey home.

Chairs in the truck.

Bill unloading chairs.

Chairs outside the front door.

Ready for relaxation.
Happy Christmas Jamie and Mam!

Ginger is always ready for a cuddle.
Then it was time to collect the children from school.
The canteen is open at the school from early in the morning until the evening.
I don't know if this is true of all Thai schools.
The school the children attend is private.

All sorts of snacks are available after school - spicy meat, fish, sea weed.....and ice cream.

Jessica is in her Girl Guides uniform, which she wears to school one day a week.

There are several posters round the hall.
I don't think we can argue with this set of behaviour ideals.

Nanny tries out the Girl Guides hat.

Parents sit and chat in the canteen and the children go for a run around the playground.

Ready for bed now and investigating Top Trump cards brought from England.

I know there is a lot to read and many pictures to browse, but I will add Jamie's blog postings too.
Today he has written about the wonderful tour we had of old Phuket Town.
The two guides used Jamie, Simon, Bill and I as guinea pigs for their new venture.
Pictures from several of us included.
Mine will come later.
