Mainly the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.

To everything there is a season.......except Solly's tree doesn't seem to know what the season is.
We have autumn leaves combined with spring blossom.

This is now the view from outside our front door.
Tomorrow morning, the first patients will have appointments to see their doctor.
Shame its not my doctor.

We were on our way out for a short walk to share in one of the events that comes each November.
Guy Fawkes Night is over (tell that to those letting off more bangy fireworks tonight!). Remembrance Day will be with us shortly.
But today, the first Sunday in November it was the London to Brighton veteran car run.
I saw my first one of these in 1949 - over 60 years ago.
The same cars, now over 100 years old, still delight the eye.
They pass by our house - it is possible to sit on our bed, in warmth and comfort, to watch.
We hoped a brief spell of fresh air would be of benefit to Bill - still suffering with his cold.

There is a brilliant poster shown on this web site promoting today's event.

These treasures are owned by true enthusiasts, who are as happy to be maintaining the engine and bodywork as driving them.
But this Sunday must be a real treat to the owners and their families and friends.
They suffered no rain this year, but it was cold.

The passenger would seem to have a stylish motor horn of his own to use.

There are always lots of people to wave to.

Will they make it up Pease Pottage Hill?

Dressed with really warm clothes.
We were chilly and our hands were cold too.

I tried hard to ensure that my pictures avoided all road signs, lamp posts, other cars on the road and spectators.
This one is different.
It's for The Redz!
Red veteran car, red modern car and the entrance to the football stadium - home of the Redz.
The Crawley team (the Redz) are doing so well this season - top of their league and through to the 2nd round of the FA Cup.
What fun if they should win that match and then get one of the really big clubs at home in January.

Talking of fun.....the young men were more conscious of their image than of getting cold.
They are driving passed the back of the medical centre.

Sunday drivers out for a spin.

Not all the cars that start out from Westminster Bridge make it down to Brighton.
Here in Southgate Avenue one has come to an untimely halt. We don't know if they got it going again, but a truck has pulled up behind in case it needs a lift down to the coast.

A very basic veteran car - basket seat and very limited wooden body work.
Later in the day - maybe in honour of The Redz - but more because I fancied a change of image.....I coloured my hair.

The photo is fine - but makes me realise that these days it just isn't me without my glasses.
And I need a haircut.
This weekend's results of the TV competitions are in - some surprises!
Now lets join in the facebook banter with friends and family about it - except for the sensible ones, who avoid such things.
Now scroll down to see some photos of a house I loved in Phuket Town.

Ford, Littlehampton and the Sistine Chapel.

Life is all out of order - and so are my blog postings.
I have to admit that today I hit the "marathon wall" - there comes a point when you feel you can't take much more.
But life is for living and after some relaxation I am feeling stronger, but glad that tomorrow will be a rest day.

Today's blog is about today - that means I have missed out days which I will catch up on - and even today's blog is not in the correct order!

We began the day at Ford. We breakfasted in Littlehampton, played on the beach and then visited the sistine chapel.
A complete reproduction of the famous ceiling painting has been done in the last 20 years by an artist in a very dull looking church(from the outside) in Goring by Sea.

We begin today's blog in Goring.
Photography was not allowed, so my images are from scanned post cards and the internet.

And now back to the beginning of the day.
It was thought that it might be boring for Ecky at Ford - the Thursday sale tends to be antiques dealers and traders, not selling the sort of things that would appeal to her.
She took the camera with her.
But in fact Ecky did the best of all of us - a vast number of unopened Dr Who magazines with their so called free gifts, Pokemon toys, books and a little black dress (which I personally didn't like that much - but she did).
And she took photos of all sorts of other things which she might have wanted if there was unlimited money and unlimited space.
It is like a photo essay about the car boot sale.

Now perhaps you can see why I find so little for me to buy when at a car boot sale with Ecky - my eyes are taken to all sorts of other things, which in no way would I want to buy for I know I could not sell them on at a profit.
After our breakfast, it was time to feed the swans.

Playing on the sand.

Collecting water for sand play.

I have spent much of the rest of day relaxing and snoozing.
I was asleep on the sofa this evening - whilst Ecky was able to be awake to see the end of a programmes about the history of girl guides.

E's day in London with The Doctor.

The Dr Who Prom at The Royal Albert hall in London.
A family concert featuring music from the BBC's Dr Who series, and including a specially filmed scene, written by Steven Moffat and starring Matt Smith.
There's also a selection of classical favourites with a strong flavour of time and space. Join Karen Gillan(aka Amy Pond), and others from the Doctor Who cast, for an intergalactic musical adventure - with a little help from Daleks, Cybermen and other aliens from the series!

We have combined some of the pictures taken by Ashley or Ekatarina with some found on websites.

Ecky was very happy and excited to be there.

Ecky's signed programme. She has quite a few autographs - sadly it was not possible to get ones from the main characters.

New rucksack - covered with lots of fun characters. It was bought in Chinatown.
And what of Bill and me - we went to a car boot sale at Reigate.
We bought some things of course.
I wrote up the weekend purchases as the cyclists rode into Paris for the last stage of Le Tour de France.
I am very tired again.
I have been thinking hard about this period of malaise. If I realise how often I am very thirsty and check on the various symptoms, I am now wondering if I might have type 2 diabetes.
I see one of the GPs next week and a discussion of this must be added to the list.
Tomorrow Bill and I will be in the shop.
