18th May Part 3. Back at Brighton Marina

We were glad to get back to Brighton Marina after our walk under the cliffs and stroll round Rottingdean.
We caught the bus back - Bill and I were able to use our bus passes. This was the first time we have been able to use the passes outside of Crawley and it certainly does help financially.
Below are a strange collection of Brighton Marina pictures, using web sites, one I took last year on my birthday and others in Wetherspoons, where we stopped for a welcome hot drink and some relaxation.

The Marina is completely man made - there is no natural harbour at this point on the Sussex Coast.
It has become a popular place to live for those who can afford it, with views out over the boats.
There are shops and eating places.

This is the view from the eastern end of the Marina towards the Undercliff Walk.

Wetherspoon's pub at the Marina. This is a chain of pubs with places throughout the land. I am fortunate that the first two Wetherspoons that I went to have been examples of the company trying to create interesting atmospheres, using old things which reflect their situation.
This is the staircase with wall hangings reclaimed from somewhere.

This lamp shade is interesting.

I shall not be putting pictures of the Lady's Rest Room onto the blog very often, but I loved the old butler's sinks and attractive taps.

Ashley enjoyed a hot chocolate - drinking, after carving shapes into the whipped cream on the top.
